10.03.2009 Pro Karelia ry COMMEMORATION ”90 JAHRE 4. MÄRZ 1919 IM SUDETENLAND“ Dear Doctor Novak, Dear Guests of this Commemoration I have a great honor to bring to this convivial occasion of Sudetendeutsche Landsmannschaft, Landesgruppe Baden-Württemberg, the warm greetings of exiled and expelled people from Finland and Estonia. We have in Europe common, still unsolved, problems, as the issue of the Sudetendeutsche and the Karelian issue. The human rights of the refugees have not yet in every respect been fulfilled, for example on a base of the Pinheiro Principles adopted by the UN Subcomission. The Nobel-prized former President of Finland, Mr. Martti Ahtisaari, has emphasized these principles: “Every refugee has right to return and get his property back”.         The guests of this commemoration reflect the desire of the European people together to find constructive solutions for the injustices caused by wars. Especially the current crisis time require common endeavours. Trust is the basis for all human cooperation. The broken trust can be built up again only the party who has broken it. The second requirement is the win-win –basis. A victory for all the parties enables the best results. The cooperation is huge power and it has great catalyst effects, which multiply the positive results. We all have a dream which already has realized as goals and activities nationally and in the EUEEP. We need courage and mental and economic sacrifices to make it real. We shall also pour courage to our political decision-makers. We do have selected them to build positive solutions also for these problems. Let’s combine our forces and extend our hands to help in constructing a better future. Let’s make this world a better place for our children and grandchildren. Thank you.
